Our History
Cardinal Gracias Memorial Hospital was the vision of Cardinal Valerian Gracias and the dream of Rev. Fr. Bernard Bhandari and Mon. Philip Tavares, who initiated this noble mission with the support of philanthropic people from society. With a deep commitment to serving the community, the founders laid the foundation of the hospital in 1982, starting with a 20-bed facility to provide essential healthcare to the people of Vasai and surrounding regions.
Over time, this small beginning grew into a trusted institution, thanks to the generosity of donors and the relentless dedication of its team. The hospital expanded its services to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the region, eventually becoming a 147- bed, multi-specialty tertiary care facility offering comprehensive medical care.
Accredited by NABH and NABL, Cardinal Gracias Memorial Hospital stands today as a symbol of quality and ethical healthcare. It caters not only to the residents of Vasai but also to patients from the wider Palghar district, providing advanced medical care with compassion and integrity.
